We used the ferry from the wharf to get to the museum, which was excellent better than going by tram etc. We arrived early but were not allowed to go on tour before 3pm as we had booked with your organisation, which we thougnt unnecessary as it was a self guided tour. It was a great tour, lots of information about how Lindt began, also how chocolate is made, ending with lots of testing three types of chocolate and samples, lots of fun.

I highly recommend for chocolate lovers! Lots of free samples! Also an audioguide that explains how chocolate was discovered and became so popular. Please be aware this activity is not in Zurich, but a neighboring town. So you will need to take a 15 min car ride or public transit, otherwise it is about a 1.5 hr walk from Zurich old town.

The factory is a 10-15 minute walk from Kilchberg station so factor that in when travelling by train. The staff were welcoming and as we had prepaid tickets we were able to start the self guided audio tour immediately. You’re taken through a history of chocolate with interesting facts. After two or three rooms you come to an area with three chocolate fountains. Here you can taste liquid chocolate (dark, milk and white) for as long as you want. In the same room there are blind-tasting machines which dispense pieces of chocolate with flavourings (sea salt, orange, etc) for you to guess. Again, you can eat as much as you want here. After this there is a room with Lindor chocolates to sample with a Lindt Choclatier staff member. I think there were 6 or 7 flavours to try. Next there was a fun vending machine game dispensing small chocolates. Finally, the factory shop. Where you can buy to your hearts content. But not much in the way of free chocolate on this tour. Recommended.
