    Full description
    At the start of this day trip to Kefalonia Island, you will be picked up from your resort and will be taken to the port in Zakynthos Town to board the boat. After the approximately one-hour ferry ride, the first stop on the island tour will be the monastery of St. Gerassimos, considered one of the most sacred pilgrimages in Kefalonia and situated under the imposing Mount Ainos. Next, the tour will head to the impressive Drogorati Cave, located outside of Sami, with its fine stalactites and stalagmites - experts estimate that the cave is about 150 million years old! A natural balcony was created in 1953 from an earthquake, which overlooks a chamber of about 100 square metres of floor space, making it possible to hold concerts for up to 500 people. The tour will then continue on to Melissani Lake and Cave.  Explore by boat the cave's stalactites, which are over 20,000 years old. Following a roof cave-in, an impressive sight has been created causing the colours of the water to be reflected onto the walls of the cave. Lunch will be at the town of Agia Efimia, a wonderful town with a small harbour. After lunch, the drive continues towards Myrtos Bay, one of Kefalonia's most famous beaches, for a photo-stop. Finally, a visit to Argostoli, the capital city of Kefalonia, will be an opportunity for refreshments, relaxing in the square or taking a walk to explore the town before reboarding the bus. The ferry will arrive back at the port in Zakynthos at about 7:00 PM.

    Kefalonia is definitely worth a trip. Unfortunately, the time on the island is very short, since a lot of time is needed for arrival and departure. I was picked up at the hotel at 7.30 am (back then at 9.15 pm) - the ferry does not leave from Zakynthos town, but from Agios Nikolaos and the crossing then takes 1 1/2 hours. ! Unfortunately, there is very little time at the individual stops. For example, 1/2 hour is far too little for the beautiful monastery of St. Gerasimos. But we visited everything according to the advertisement and the great tour guide Andrea told us a lot and great about the island (and that bilingually) and our bus driver drove us safely over partly steep coastal roads. The tavern for the lunch break was also well chosen, right on the small harbor and with delicious food. The further journey with great views and the short photo stop over Myrtos Beach went to Argostoli. Here we had 1 hour of free time before we went back.

    It was a good tour but the timeframe that it took was 14hrs from getting picked up to getting dropped off. In the itinerary it stated to take towels and swimwear this indicated that we would be stopping of somewhere swimming for future ref this should be taking out. The tour guide and driver of the bus were good at what they did

    A day in Kefalonia could have been better spent in my opinion (and that is just my opinion). If you have no expectations and can be open minded, then you'll be fine. Coach pick up from our hotel was bang on time so thank you to the driver for that. The handover of the Ferry tickets could be handled differently to save time as there was plenty of time before reaching the Port. The tour is very rushed, with time limits per stop. We only got 15 minutes at the Monastery which isn't enough time especially when there are several coaches visiting at the same time. I would have preferred to stop in Argostoli for longer as it's beautiful and maybe have lunch there as apposed to Agia Efimia (literally nothing going on there). The tour guide was nice and she gave clear instructions in dual language (which didn't include Greek by the way). Travel light if you can and wear comfortable clothing and footwear.
