Full description
In this tour you will visit the central spots in Zagreb, expand your knowledge about the city's history and traditions, try different local dishes, and make unforgettable memories with other happy guests. The tour starts on the main city square where you will meet your guide, before heading to the central green market. At the market, you will taste fresh, local ingredients and dishes such as simple a homemade peasant dish, "sir i vrhnje" (cottage cheese), a crusty puffed pastry with fillings ("burek"), and some of the local fish and meat dishes ("srdele i ćevapi"). While in Zagreb, you have to try the unusual authentic dessert, which is best when it's served warm ("štrukli"). As well as this, you will also see how chocolate tastes in Zagreb, since the locals have their own chocolate factory. To provide a good image of what is traditional in Croatia, this tour also includes some of the delicious foods from other Croatian regions such as Dalmatian "pršut" and Istrian olives. To remember the complicated names of the local dishes, you will receive the materials that should make it easy for you to go back to the locations you liked, and try out the additional food recommended by your guide.

Our guide Kristina Bozic was absolutely phenomenal. Although she had a script for this tour, she quickly picked up our personal food preferences and incorporated them seamlessly. Her enthusiasm and knowledge is well above of that you may expect for a guide. She made our day in tastes, knowledge, good conversations and smiles. We both have now acquired a deep appreciation of Croatian people and their food. Hvala vam. Marcus and Kristine from Canada

Highly, highly recommend this experience!!! We booked this tour for our first full day in Croatia, and it was a great way to get to know the city and get an introduction to the food scene. Diana was a wonderful guide who was very knowledgeable about Croatian food and culture, and really made the experience the best it could be. Some advice - do not eat breakfast before coming, you will be eating more than enough food!!
