Full description
In this tour you will visit the central spots in Zagreb, expand your knowledge about the city's history and traditions, try different local dishes, and make unforgettable memories with other happy guests. The tour starts on the main city square where you will meet your guide, before heading to the central green market. At the market, you will taste fresh, local ingredients and dishes such as simple a homemade peasant dish, "sir i vrhnje" (cottage cheese), a crusty puffed pastry with fillings ("burek"), and some of the local fish and meat dishes ("srdele i ćevapi"). While in Zagreb, you have to try the unusual authentic dessert, which is best when it's served warm ("štrukli"). As well as this, you will also see how chocolate tastes in Zagreb, since the locals have their own chocolate factory. To provide a good image of what is traditional in Croatia, this tour also includes some of the delicious foods from other Croatian regions such as Dalmatian "pršut" and Istrian olives. Our guide Diana was exceptional, smiling, cheerful. Trying different traditional dishes, we gained an idea of the culinary preferences of the inhabitants of Zagreb. Thanks to Diana, everything was organized and conducted perfectly. The only drawback in our opinion / on the third day of our stay in Zagreb we had an idea of the prices in the restaurants / is that the the tour is a little bit overpriced.

We really had lots of fun and the food we tasted was very diverse! Kristina is a super friendly and funny guide who gave us a personal tour of the local foods and shared lots of insight into the history and Croatian culture, we felt very welcomed by her. She kept in mind your personal food preferences and/or allergies, etc. as well. Furthermore, there really is NO need to have breakfast beforehand! We started off with a breakfast type of food and all the portions were quite large, so come with an empty stomach if possible. It is also a good idea to bring a small bag, some "samples" could be saved for later.

Vid was an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. We were most impressed that he even researched our country facts, to compare against his local facts… very cool. We ate so much we never ate again for the rest of the day. DON’T have breakfast beforehand. A culinary tour and time well spent in Zagreb, we also got many tips on what to do for the rest of our trip…
