  • York: Evening Dinner Cruise

    1. York: Evening Dinner Cruise

During the two and a half hour cruise, as you wine and dine, you will be kept entertained by a live and informative sightseeing commentary, interspersed with background music. You will be served a glass of house wine as you step aboard, before being treated to three delectable courses, followed by a choice of tea or coffee and chocolates. You will take in great views of York's riverscape before heading beyond the city limits to view the spectacular 13th Century riverside residence of His Grace the Archbishop of York, Bishopthorpe Palace. You will then continue further downstream towards the villages of Naburn and Acaster Malbis, before returning to the city center.

Excellent staff, very friendly. Food Excellent, we were so surprised about the quality of the food. Booked for my husbands birthday and was pleasantly surprised.

  • York: 1–Hour Evening Walking Tour

    2. York: 1–Hour Evening Walking Tour

Early evening is the most atmospheric time to experience York, the shops have closed, the tourist hordes have departed, the ancient streets lie at your disposal. This hour-long walking tour is for anyone seeking a concise, informal and entertaining introduction to York in the company of an expert local guide. Discover why the Minster is known as a Minster rather than a cathedral, why all the streets in York are called Gates and all the gates are called Bars. Start your tour in Exhibition Square, and see 2000 years of history simply by turning in a circle. Take in all the must-see sights including the Minster, the medieval walls and the Shambles, the inspiration for Diagon Alley. Take the opportunity to enter the maze of ancient cut-throughs and back-passages, or Snickelways as they are known locally.  Although this isn't a ghost tour there are plenty of gruesome true stories to be hear...

Sarah was a really good. informative and made the tour very interesting, fun and easy to remember, we had two children aged 9 and 13 and they both said - ‘that was really good Mam’ - they expected to be bored but were far from it !

Very easy online booking process with clear directions on location of boat; can board from 7.15pm for a 7.30pm sail away slot, minimal queuing, easy checking in process which was very prompt. Seating available on the lower deck for passengers who may difficulty with stairs, majority of seating upstairs, large roomy dining areas with appropriate partitioning in place in accordance with Covid19 regulations. We went in July 2021 and a light jacket/cardigan was required. Friendly staff, great food, attention to detail, prompt service - our party of 3 loved it.
