2. From Oaxaca: Hierve El Agua, Teotitlan, Yagul & Tree of Tule

This exclusive tour takes you to four exceptional destinations, each boasting its own unique charm and historical significance. Embarking on an early morning excursion, you'll enjoy a delightful hike around the waterfall, affording multiple perspectives and fantastic photo opportunities of this captivating marvel, all before the crowds arrive. The experience also provides a chance to acclimate, should you desire a dip in the waters, which are considered healing by the Mixtecs residing in the neighboring mountain ranges. The area is teeming with native agaves and cacti, creating an authentic Mexican frontier ambiance. Moreover, being far from nearby villages blesses the region with an abundance of birds and wildlife sightings. As we descend from the mountain, our next destination is the Yagul archaeological site, a rare gem that attracts only a few visitors. Yagul's allure lies in the wild cacti and agave plants that intertwine with the Zapotec ruins. Steeped in history and a palpable aura, this site has featured in numerous Mexican books and films. Close by is Teotitlan del Valle, renowned for its tradition of Zapotec weavers, whose designs and styles have gained worldwide acclaim. We'll have the privilege of visiting a household that sources its wool exclusively from their own livestock, providing an in-depth tour of their production methods from inception to completion. This immersive experience allows us to grasp the artistry and symbolism behind these textiles, guided by a family with generations of weaving expertise. To top it off, we'll savor a delectable lunch prepared by the family, a true delight of traditional Oaxacan cuisine. En route back to Oaxaca, we'll make a stop at Santa Maria del Tule, where one of the world's largest and oldest trees stands tall. The Moctezuma Cypress boasts the widest trunk on the planet and thrives as an entire ecosystem, its sheer size dwarfing the neighboring church. At a staggering 1500 years old, this natural wonder fills us with wonder and an overwhelming sense of reverence in its presence.

The Tlacolula market experience is incredible! Must be lived! However, we believe that the agency did not send us a tour guide but a driver, because he did not know anything about the Yagul archaeological zone and did not explain anything to us.

Good tour. Yagul had a lot to offer even though it is smaller than Monte Alban. The market had a massive amount of eats and wares for visitors to enjoy and get lost in for hours.

Excellent, friendly. Although not a guided tour, safe transportation, amicable bilingual conversation, flexible with time and plans, definitely reccomended.

Great experience, loved the Sunday Market and we enjoyed every minute of it. Also the extra stops were nice and the guide was great!

Big props to Marco and Soledad for the best tour you can get in Oaxaca.
