London: Windsor Castle Private Tour with Hotel Transfers

1. London: Windsor Castle Private Tour with Hotel Transfers

Your private tour guide will bring the incredible history to life as you step back in time to the 11th Century and learn about how Windsor Castle was founded by William the Conqueror. It has since withstood siege, been used for official entertaining, as a royal court by King Henry VIII and Elizabeth I, and as a home to 39 monarchs. It was a residence of Queen Elizabeth II who enjoyed many of her private weekends at the Castle. Located within 13 acres, and boasting over an impressive 1,000 rooms, the Castle consists of three distinct sections. During the reign of King Charles II, the State Apartments were renovated to rival the rooms of Versailles in France and, today, you can witness incredible artwork from the Royal Collections, including paintings by Rembrandt and Rubens. Experience spectacular St George’s Chapel, a beautiful place of worship, burial place for ten monarchs including Henry VIII and the Queen Mother, and the setting for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding. Also, depending on the day and time of your visit, you might be lucky enough to witness the Changing of the Guard at Windsor Castle. The ceremony sees the guards marching through Windsor town and into the castle for the guard change. If you book 4 hours option that will include your travel time and visit of Windsor castle. Any extra time at extra cost so please plan your visit in advance. Sometimes Windsor castle can be closed for visits due to state visits. We are not responsible for this. Everything was just as advertised. The driver was at the designated place, he took care of all the luggage, took us directly to our hotel and was a safe driver. My only negative comment- the location listed when you book this through the online website shows the pick up point in a different location and in a different terminal. The only reason I knew the pick up point was at the Costa coffee shop and not the other location was because I called the company in London-from the US with a couple of questions and the lady on the phone told me about the Costa coffee location I would suggest putting that info on the website.

Outstanding guide-Andrew. Very accommodating since Windsor was closed due to the Queen’s death. He was flexible and showed us parts of London we had not seen in previous visits. Private tour for the four of us. An outstanding guide was provided us at Hampton Court. Her name was Sophie. Highly recommend this tour for a private experience in a brand new black taxi (can’t guarantee the “new”).

David was great - got me there in good time and was lovely to chat to. At Hampton Court, Jacqui was wonderful - she really knows her stuff! Highly recommend if you are looking to go to both and don’t want to manage that on your own.

Andrew was a wonderful driver and Jackie was a wonderful guide. We thoroughly enjoyed or day.

Mark was a terrific guide and the tour was excellent!
