Although this trip is approx 10 hours, it really didn’t feel like it. Visiting the two camps is an absolute must when visiting krakow. It’s very harrowing, so sad, thought provoking but essential to ensure nothing like what happened here ever happens again. Visiting the salt mines after the camps was incredible and lifted our mood. Again the time spent here went in very quickly and our group of five absolutely loved it. Chapel chandeliers made from salt are stunning! Our driver collected us from our apartment on time and made sure we met with the tour guides for each attraction. He dropped us back off at the apartment too. I would highly recommend this trip .

  • Krakow: Wieliczka Salt Mine Transport & Ticket Reservation

    10. Krakow: Wieliczka Salt Mine Transport & Ticket Reservation

Visit the mind-blowing Wieliczka Salt Mine, a must when in Krakow. One of the oldest salt mines in Europe, its carvings of fabulous figures, monuments, and altarpieces have earned Wieliczka a place on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list since 1978. The product of multiple generations of miners who hand-carved it from blocks of salt, this subterranean world of pits, tunnels, and huge rooms has to be seen to be believed. The whole underground labyrinth stretches over 9 levels and descends 327 meters (1,073 feet) below the surface of the Earth. The first tourist trail in Wieliczka was established as early as at the turn of the 19th century, and nowadays the route consists of 20 monumental chambers joined by 1.5 miles (2.5 kilometers) of pathways. Head 210 to 440 feet (approximately 64 to 135 meters) underground, passing through galleries and chambers where traces of mining activity ha...

It was well organised and worth a visit but as the tours were 30 people it was quite crowded and a little rushed. There is a shop at the exit so wait to buy your gifts until you reach the exit. Take a packed lunch too as not enough time to eat at the restaurant there.

A short and interesting excursion, the children also liked it. There was time to walk around and buy souvenirs. I would definitely recommend a visit to everyone who came to Krakow.

Great tour and amazing experience which was made even better by the knowledge and sense of humour of the guide Mikołaj. Highly recommended, a must see tour!!!!

I advise everyone to wear comfortable shoes, you need to walk a lot. But it's worth it. It's beautiful inside, the guide is well-known and interesting.
