Wonderful bike ride with spectacular scenery ending at Mount Vernon.

From the beautiful, historic town of Alexandria, following level terrain along the Potomac river with some wooded sections with modest hills. This was a ride that we were able to do, even though my wife and I are aged 70, with histories of knee and hip surgeries, and our granddaughters ages 8 and 12. Ending with a tour of the home of George Washington and visit to the tomb of the first President and his wife. At the tomb, because of my military service, I was asked to read Washington's prayer to the nation and lead the visitors in the Pledge of Allegiance. Our granddaughters were asked to lay a wreath. Finally, slow boat ride back to Alexandria within steps of our car. A fantastic trip.

Couples bike ride to Mount Vernon

Picked up bikes in Alexandria. Easy metro ride on blue line from DC Picked up bikes then cycled s glorious 20 Mile through beautiful Virginia, along the Potomac river, to Mount Vernon. Bike man met us there to take our bikes back. Lunch at The Inn. Stroll around the house and gardens, then boat trip back Alexandria. Excellent day out

Not super impressed but loved the trail

The sites made up for the ok customer service at bike shop and the beat up bikes they rented us, the trail was very cool. My opinion although we didn’t get lost, shop should give map of trail. The boat tour, was not a tour just a water taxi so set you expectations that it is just a mode of transportation back to Alexandria or National Harbor. For the price I’d say move on to something else on bucket list as the was between poor and average.
