What people are saying about Warmia-Masuria Province

The Wolf's Lair and its significance as a key location for the conduct of the second world war would have been much more difficult to interpret without our guide, Martin. At the (mostly destroyed) Wolf's Lair, he explained the use each building was put to and the fortification and camoflage measures. We later visited the High Command of the German army, which although empty of the original contents, was not physically destroyed and there were many similarities in the construction with the Wolf's Lair. He is very knowlegeable about the second world war and commented extensively about it and answered all our questions. I consider myself quite knowlegeable, but I still learnt a lot. In addition, we visited an abandoned part-finished lock gate construction, which was planned by the Nazis as part of a string of locks necessary to achieve a navigable connection to the Baltic. Such enormous projects reflect the engineering might of the third Reich and their fantastic organisational skills. Ma

Warsaw: Private Full-Day Wolf's Lair Tour Reviewed by Kathleen, 09/09/2020

It was a great day out! I will say that the drive from Warsaw and back is long. It seems that going anywhere in Poland takes awhile though. The ride was nice, we had a van for just the 3 of us so we were quite comfortable. There was a little restaurant on site to grab a quick bite if you choose to and the tour of the bunkers was very interesting. I do wish we had more time there but it is definitely hard to do when coming from Warsaw.

It was a great trip. I had best driver, Kamil, you would be lucky to have him too. Guide was also nice and Wolf's Lair impressive if you're into history, if not maybe not best choice. As I went solo not great for the money, but definetely great for bigger group.
