Wailua Falls: 173 foot waterfall located near Lihue which is featured on the opening scenes of Fantasy Island. Hanapepe Town: Located on the south shore west of Koloa. Flourished as one of Kauai’s largest communities. They have wonderful food, culture, and scenery. Waimea Canyon Lookout: known as Grand Canyon of the Pacific, is 10 miles long and 3000 feet deep which was formed from steady erosion over hundreds of thousand years. Kalalau Lookout: Kalalau Valley is one of the most-photographed and well-recognized valleys in all of Hawaii. This is primarily because the valley and surrounding coast have served as the backdrop for countless films including “King Kong” (the original), “Mighty Joe Young,” “Jurassic Park,” and “Six Days Seven Nights. Kalalau Lookout is also the highest elevation most people reach in Kauai by road, at 4,000 feet. Spouting Horn: The Spouting Horn Beach area of Kauai is known for crashing waves. These waves erode lava rocks on the coastline which can create narrow opening, as is the case with Spouting Horn. With every wave, water shoots upward when it is forced through an opening creates sound which reminds you of horn blowing.
