Day 1: Bucharest to Bucovina You will be picked up by a professional guide from either your hotel in Bucharest or Otopeni Airport. Get picked up from your hotel in Brasov and drive to Racos geological complex. Here, admire the 15-meter tall basalt columns, the Emerald Lake with its unique color and, lastly, a volcanic canyon. If you like history, you can visit the Sukosd Bethlen castle situated in the village of Racos and even climb the tower for panoramic views of the area. Then, head to your next stop, the Rupea citadel, situated on top of a small hill above the city of Racos. This is one of the oldest archaeological sites in Romania. Your final stop will be in Viscri, where you will enjoy a 1-hour ride in a traditional horse-drawn carriage through the village. Next, visit a local blacksmith and see how horseshoes are made.
