Potsdam: Villa Schöningen Garden Jazz Concert Ticket

3. Potsdam: Villa Schöningen Garden Jazz Concert Ticket

Experience unique jazz concerts in the historic park of Villa Schöningen! On three different days stars of the jazz scene will play in the garden of Villa Schöningen. Besides Lisa Bassenge, Jocelyn B. Smith will perform and also Feven Yoseph. Sunday 17.07, 3pm: Concert by Lisa Bassenge with Christoph Bernewitz (Git) Singer Lisa Bassenge entered the jazz scene like a meteor in the early 2000s and yet made it unmistakably clear that the concept of jazz is too narrow for her. So the Berlin artist positioned herself as a poppy song interpreter, Knef adept and club icon with the project Micatone. She occupied a new, exciting musical field in passing and made jazz turn somersaults with new ideas. And she did all this with her very own interpretive strength, which was to become her trademark. Her subsequent German-language albums even carried her into the pop charts. The media stood on its head. Sunday 24.07, 3pm: Concert by Jocelyn B. Smith with Volker Holly Schlott (Sax) Jocelyn B. Smith, a native of New York, has lived in Germany for over 30 years. She has performed more than 3,000 live concerts and worked with artists as diverse as Lenny White, Till Brönner, Falco, Alphaville and composers such as Mikis Theodorakis, Heiner Goebbels and Zülfu Livanelli. Saturday 03.09, 3pm: Concert by Feven Yoseph with Marcus Rust (Keys, Winghorn) and Fritz Bayer (Git) Feven Yoseph grew up in Dessie, one of the largest Ethiopian cities on the northeastern edge of the Abyssinian highlands. In Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, she studied at the Mekane Jesus School of Jazz music, where she soon also became Ethiopia's first vocal coach, establishing a vocal class. Soon after, she recorded her first album "chanting soul" with leading musicians of Ethiopia's jazz scene. The release of this album was eagerly awaited, because with her songs she tears down the barriers that exist on all sides and builds bridges between worlds that so often exist separately: She combines spiritual and secular music, combines Ethiopian styles with jazz, reggae, soul and RnB and finally uses her Ethio-Jazz as a mouthpiece for openness, spirituality and progress in her own country.
