What people are saying about Vila Real District

Denys was our guide and we couldn’t have asked for a better full day with him. He showed up a little early to beat traffic but encouraged us to take our time. He drove us up to Douro Valley to our first wine tour. It was 2 hours away but he was extremely knowledgeable about all things Portugal! Culture, wine, and all of the history. We had our first tour and then onto the River cruise tour. That lasted about an hour. He then took us on a scenic route, with several photo opportunities, to our place of lunch w another tour. The lunch was traditional Portuguese w wonderful table wine from the vineyard. We were in the town of Fernando Magellans birth place and had the opportunity to snap a few pictures of his home. It was a long, but wonderful day w Denys. He was very flexible and accommodating when we wanted to cut the afternoon short to get back to Porto City Centre as we had dinner reservations. I would highly recommend the tour - as long as you get our guide Denys!

We booked this tour as a group of three- myself and my parents. Our guide Ivo was a local of the Duoro region, and was excellent. He went out of his way to make sure that we were comfortable; everything from letting us set our own pace to standing in line at the ferry queue for us to make sure that we got the best seats. The spacious van was more than sufficient for us, and very comfortable. The itinerary was not too packed, and allowed for a relaxing pace, which was what we were after. We were not big drinkers, but there is definitely a generous amount of wine on offer for those who are. We felt very well taken care of the entire way and enjoyed ourselves.

The Douro Valley was amazing! We stopped in a small town on the way up for espresso/pastries, took a boat ride up the Douro river and visited 2 wineries, one with an authentic Portuguese meal. Paulo was extremely knowledgeable on the area even brought a pastel de nata for us to enjoy!

We were picked up at our apartment. Traveled to Duro Valley where we toured 2 Vineyards, took a boat ride on the Duro river and had a great lunch before we were brought back to our apartment. A tour worth taking!

Very Informative and when our family asked to change the days schedule he was very accommodating after checking with the office first.
