3 Special Port Wines and Fado Music Session

3. 3 Special Port Wines and Fado Music Session

Make yourself at home, drink our iconic Port wine and feel the Portuguese soul with Fado. All of that at our historical building in the heart of Vila Nova de Gaia, just across the Douro River from Porto city. The impressive building dates back to 200 years and it has a close relation to the Port Wine world. It was originally used as a cooperage that manufactured barrels and casks for the Port houses in Vila Nova de Gaia. In the 1950s, with the increasing usage of stainless steel vats, the business was turned into a wooden box manufacturer (boxes which were used to contain Port bottles), until the ‘90s, when it was transformed into a Port wine tasting room. Finally, we acquired this lodge in 2020 to be able to share our wines and passion directly with our guests in Vila Nova de Gaia. The best place to learn all about the specifics of the Port Wine with our friendly staff! Welcome to the Quevedo family! Although the Quevedo Family has been producing Port Wine in São João da Pesqueira for more than 5 generations, the actual company was only founded in 1993. This makes us one of the most recent Port Wine Houses from the Douro. With less than 30 years of existence, we feel we are at the beginning of our journey and every day is a fresh page added to what we like to do most: explore all the ways wines can be enjoyed.

Intimate setting with friendly host and musicians who quickly settled us in. Excellent explanation of what FADO is to give context and beautiful music with a passionate singer. A variety of songs, music and styles meant we had an extremely informative and enjoyable evening.

Very enjoyable time. The singer was charming and the musicians were excellent. We got a good lesson in Fado with a wide range of styles. The singer impressed us with her command of multiple languages.

We were accompanied by a very enthusiastic guide. The show that followed was also above our expectations.

Wonderful evening. Great quality Fado in a lovely atmosphere. Very informative too. We loved it.

It was very nice, although you didn't really need the audio guide
