All of that at our historical building in the heart of Vila Nova de Gaia, just across the Douro River from Porto city. The impressive building dates back to 200 years and it has a close relation to the Port Wine world. It was originally used as a cooperage that manufactured barrels and casks for the Port houses in Vila Nova de Gaia. In the 1950s, with the increasing usage of stainless steel vats, the business was turned into a wooden box manufacturer (boxes which were used to contain Port bottles), until the ‘90s, when it was transformed into a Port wine tasting room. Finally, we acquired this lodge in 2020 to be able to share our wines and passion directly with our guests in Vila Nova de Gaia. The Fashion & Design Experience, housed in an imposing historic residence and converted Port wine lodges, is the first ever showcase of the North of Portugal’s role as a powerhouse in fashion and textile manufacture. This enthralling story unfolds on two levels. On the ground floor we experience Portugal’s rich textile industry, and discover the materials and processes involved in making an item of clothing. The exhibition spaces on the first floor bring to life the dynamic contemporary Portuguese fashion industry, Portuguese footwear craftsmanship and innovation, as well as an exhibition space that showcases emerging fashion designers. Renowned since the beginning of the 18th century and the Industrial Revolution for some of the best quality textiles and footwear in the world, the region is home to many inspired designers who have created international reputations. Discover how new fabric technology is revolutionising the Portuguese fashion scene, and get to know some of Portugal's influential fashion designers.

Our experience starts with a welcome Port wine. We continued on to the cheese, sausage and chutney's tasting. You can choose white, red or green ('Verde) wine. During the wine tasting you can select 2 diferentes wines. At the end of the experience, we will make a toast with Ginginga (special licor) in a chocolate cup.
