Electric train that takes you slowly around the periphery of the gardens and estate of the Schonbrunn. Lots of useful commentary over the PA in German, English and Italian. It stopped at the Gloriette (about half way round the estate) for 10 minutes, so you can get out and have a look, or stay longer and wait for the next train to come along every 30 minutes. We opted to stay for lunch at the Gloriette and walk through the gardens back to the Palace.

This hop on / hop off train takes you to the remote edges of the palace grounds. (With official hand stamp) You can also ride the circuit with a 10 min photo stop at the Gloriette. We wound in through the service area of the zoo for a minute or two but didn’t see many animals. This is a great way to see the park and save your walking for points of interest.

Getting to the train pick up spot was pretty easy. You just take your printed out voucher inside the palace grounds and to the left through the side gate. Trains run often and stop a lot all over so you can get off and explore the huge palace grounds. Only thing is that the last train is at 3pm which is a bit early and the event description says that you can ride till 6. But if you go with some time, you should be fine. We actually went close to 3 and just rode the train around once without getting off just to see the entire grounds and hear about all the things there are within them.
