I went to the Thursday concert, which is a programme of two string quartets by Schubert and Beethoven. The highlight was the use of period instruments which was a refreshing experience for the ears, and the acoustic of the church is good with not too much reverb. The players were all very skilled and passionate in their music-making. Tickets are on the expensive side in my opinion but on the other hand I have been hard-pressed to find cheaper concerts in Vienna. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the Stephansplatz/Karlsplatz area.

Beautiful church with incredible ambiance. The program was just the right length for those who are not used to a classical concert. The musicians were fabulous. There is no air conditioning so take a fan on very hot evenings. Also…choose the separate seats off to the side if you come late for seating. If you sit in the mid section all the way to the back pews you cannot see the musicians. The separate seats offer a side angle view of the ensemble.

I thoroughly enjoyed the concert. The venue is beautiful. I like classical music but I'm not well-versed by any means. I had not heard these pieces before so it was quite nice to have a new experience. I also liked that it was ~70 minutes. Sitting there alone-- it was meditative. If it had been two hours, I think it would be too long not to have someone to bounce ideas off with or share the occasional expression. The concert length was very good. Also, the 7.30-7.45pm entrance was convenient after a dinner downtown!
