Arrived at Tiergarten, very long line to queue for entry ticket. Pull out your mobile phone, book via GetYourGuide and the ticket is available in the app within seconds. I held out the QR code at the turnstile and, bang, I was inside. The zoo is highly recommended. For me one of the most beautiful ones I have ever visited. Big and varied. The trail, which is painted on the ground with animal paws, is also great. So you don't have to keep looking at the map and can comfortably browse the areas. An absolute must on a trip to Vienna!

We enjoyed seeing a wide variety of animals and it was helpful to have information about them in both languages. Our favourites were the wolves, the giraffes, the elephants, the pandas, and the very vocal birds! The animals appear to be well-cared for and there is a lot to see - so much so, that we didn't have time for everything and we would like to come back.

The zoo is very beautiful. It was clean and the prices of the food and drinks were also reasonable. The crowd was well distributed so that you could see everything in peace and were not rushed, and there were plenty of places to sit and rest. For the first visit to Vienna, the Tiergarten was very worthwhile for a day trip.
