    Full description
    Your half-day wine tour starts with a pickup at your downtown hotel (or recommended pickup location) with an air-conditioned minibus. After the last pickup, you will start your 30-minute drive to Weinviertel wine region. En route you’ll learn about Austria's fascinating history and hear about the country’s long and rich wine tradition. After arriving in the region, you’ll visit 3 unique wineries. These small, family-owned wineries produce about 35,000 to 50,000 bottles of wine each year, mostly sold in selected restaurants and from their cellars. In the small groups, you will have the opportunity to look behind the scenes and taste 4 wines at each of the wineries. At the last stop of the winery tour, you finish the day with a classic Austrian countryside dinner so you can discuss your wine discoveries as you enjoy your meal. After the tour and meal, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel or preferred downtown drop-off point in Vienna.

    We visited three wineries that produced different wines. All were family businesses. On the last farm we ate a tasty dinner. The only vegan in the gang was also taken into account. The transportation was good anyway, but when it is advertised that the trip is suitable for 99 and down, then both my 90-year-old father and I had difficulty getting into such a high car. However, the driver got a box of wine from the first farm, on which we got on first and then into the car. One should prepare with a sturdy kitchen ladder, a children's platform alone is not enough.

    We enjoyed this wine tour of Vienna area country wineries. The wine was exceptional and we experienced great hospitality at each venue. It was slightly awkward with it being just my husband and I and the tour guide, although that wasn't his fault since they did give us the opportunity to reschedule on a date with other participants. And it is to their credit that they didn't cancel our booking since there were only two of us. But I imagine that this would have been really wonderful with a larger group.

    Andrei was our guide. He instructed us on the wine making history of the region and introduced us to very fine white wines with the help of three local wine producers. The food was also very good and typical of the region We recommend this tour to every wine lover. It even made my husband who is a red wine lover a fan of the Vienna white wines.
