From Supetar & Postira: Vidova Gora to Dol Biking Tour

2. From Supetar & Postira: Vidova Gora to Dol Biking Tour

This biking tour begins at the top of Vidova Gora, the highest peak of the island Brač, and ends at the seaside. The path is 22 kilometers long, and takes about 2.5 hours to cross it. The interesting part of this tour is the completely different vegetation and climate you will experience both on the mountain top and by the seaside. Vidova Gora Mountain offers not only the best views on the island, but also pristine nature and a great biking trail. Descending from the mountain and sheltered by the black pines, you will go towards the villages. The museum presents the traditional process of olive oil making on the island, and exhibits an olive mill, olive press, spindle for tightening press screw, bags, a fireplace for heating water, and all the traditional tools for transport, production and storage of olive oil. Along with a lesson about the most important product of Brač, you will be able to taste the finest olive oils and local sweet jams, and will even be able to enjoy a welcome aperitif. Following this stop in Škrip you will move forward to Splitska, an ancient village that was also a port from where the famous Brač stone was exported from. Your tour will then end in Dol, a small eco-ethno village with unique caves and stone houses, where you will learn more about local legends.

My daughter and I had an amazing tour with Marin, just us two and it was a real treat! Marin was an excellent driver who shared with us interesting facts about the history and culture of the island and was attentive to our questions. We saw the olive oil museum where the guide there was fantastic and the oil very tasty, went through villages and saw the Brac bonsai church, went through the national park Vidova Gora and at the highest point of the island with views on Zlatni Rat Beach and the surrounding islands (Vis, Hvar and others), swam in Zlatni Rat Beach (refreshing but still worth it), had a fantastic lunch in an authentic Mediterranean house with a friendly atmosphere and excellent food, and lastly we saw a quarry with the island’s famous limestone. Overall a fantastic experience which was intimate and by the end we almost felt like friends! It was wonderful to have a local show us the island and we wouldn’t have been able to see everything without the jeep. Highly recommend!

My 6 year old son and I were the only ones on the tour with Tino. It was a fantastic day and I’m so glad that we did it. Tino was an absolutely amazing driver and guide - he provided lots of detailed history and information throughout the day but also went above and beyond in making the various stops extra interesting and relevant for my son. The jeep itself was loads of fun, and lunch was delicious and our hosts were so friendly (and what a beautiful, tranquil spot). I’d highly recommend this to anyone - it was an unforgettable day!

It was a really good tour. The meal was at a Croatian home and the food was excellent. The olive museum was worth a visit. Great day out.

Trip was great. Guide was very knowledgeable. Great views. Enjoyed the olive oil museum most. Lunch was yummy.

Tino was an amazing guide. This is a must do tour with amazing views and authentic food!
