Full description
Discover the rich history of Venice on a 2-hour guided tour to visit the most prestigious attractions of the city: the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark’s Basilica. See artistic masterpieces and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city from the basilica’s terrace. After meeting your guide under the Clock Tower in St. Mark’s Square, start your tour with a visit to one of the most breath-taking buildings of Venice: the Doge’s Palace, the residence of the Doge and seat of local magistrates until the fall of the Serenissima, the Venetian Republic. Admire up-close the palace’s many extraordinary masterpieces like the Giants’ and the Golden Staircases and “The Paradise” canvas by the famous painter Jacopo Tintoretto. You will also cross the Bridge of Sighs and tour the New Prisons where, during the Serenissima, criminals were detained. Afterward, your guide will take you to St. Mark’s Museum located inside St. Mark’s Basilica and to the terrace, from where you will have the opportunity to admire St. Mark’s Square from above and take wonderful pictures.

Superb unmissable visit to Venice. The guide spoke French very well and was able to adapt her comments to several children present in the group (13 people). Pleasant surprise to have also had a visit to the interior of Saint Mark's Basilica, which was not provided for in the description.
