Full description
Enjoy a half-day excursion from Venice to the islands of Murano and Burano in the Venetian lagoon. Your tour starts out from St. Mark's Square, where you’ll board a boat that will take you to the northern part of the lagoon. During the crossing, some commentary about the area will be provided in English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian. Murano Island is the first stop, a place that’s world-famous for its glass production. You’ll have a chance to visit a glass factory and observe a local artist giving shape to a work of art in glass. Afterwards, you’ll have some free time to explore the island and take in the picturesque views. Next stop is Burano, one of the most beautiful and peaceful islands in the lagoon. Burano is well known for its colorful houses and long tradition of lace production. You’ll have enough free time here for a walk around the island to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, before the boat returns to Venice.

Worth it to go on the trip, it was unfortunately raining for us when we went, but still really nice to see these islands. There wasn’t anything significantly outstanding with this specific tour, but it did what it said it would - nice boat brought us to both islands - you probably don’t have enough time to shop and eat at these places though, so choose one.

The stop at Murano allows you to see the manufacture of blown glass, although too commercial; on the other hand, the stop on the island of Burano is magnificent, not to be missed. As for our guide, she spoke French, but given the quality of the loudspeakers, we didn't understand anything.

This was a great trip, we had plenty of time on each island to look around, take photos and get a drink before getting back in the boat. Information provided by the guide was interesting and timely, instructions of what to see when to be back for boat departure we’re simple and straight forward and delivered in 5 different languages. Staff were helpful, polite and knowledgeable.
