The Doges palace was larger and more impressive in real life than expected. St.Marks was closed on the ground floor due to flood damage from last November, but the interior could be viewed well from the upper balcony. The tour guide Monica was excellent, very clear, knowledgeable and considerate. It is worth booking a small tour to skip the ticket queues, as everyone still has to queue for security checks as well. We were also offered a free admission into a glass factory nearby at the end of the tour which was great.

It was a really beautiful guided walk through Venice. The guide was a super kind Venetian and she talked about the history, culture and lifestyle of the city. She also provided a lot of tips for us, some of them we ended up trying and were great suggestions.

We really enjoyed the concert evening. But you shouldn't go to the concert with small children. Behind our row sat a family with a schoolchild who was talking the whole time until the break.
