Full description
First of all, we will begin our Bike tour from the Serranos Gates – ancient gothic gates that used to be a part of the city wall to protect Valencia from the invaders, where your guide will explain to you the history of this amazing landmark of Valencia. After that, you will stroll down to “the lungs” of the city – the Turia Park. It is located in what used to be the famousTuria River, which passed through the entire city. Today, the Turia park is one of the biggest urban parks in Spain due to the numerous green spaces representing the entire wealth of the Mediterranean flora. With more than nine kilometers with play areas, sport fields and romantic corners where you can relax and hide from the heat. It is an ideal route to do it on bike. Before we reach our main goal – The City of Arts and Sciences Valencia, we will stop at the famous Music Palace of Valencia. This Palace is one of thе most emblematic constructions of the Turia Parkcapital and one of the most important musical centers in Europe. If you are into classical music, we advise you to book a concert ticket in advance. Next stop in your adventure is by the Gulliver Park, a giant and impressive playground for children and also for adults who like to slide down on Gulliver the giant and pretend to be part of the Lilliputians, so they turn out to be the characters of Swift’s story! Finally, you will reach your destination, one of “must see” things in Valencia. Through the Turia Garden, you will get to the glorious futuristic architecture project of Santiago Calatrava. It is a charming complex dedicated to scientific and cultural achievements, consisting of six buildings. Each one is truly unique and therefore all the complex of the City of Arts and Sciences became a symbol of the city. We have here L’Oceanogràfic – the biggest aquarium in Europe and a unique space in the city of arts & sciences Valencia. Next object is The Hemisfèric theatre where astonishing digital projections are taking place. Príncipe Felipe Science Museum is like the city of science in Valencia. There are plenty of interactive exhibitions during which the visitors can conduct experiments and take an active part, ask questions, and learn a lot about science.. The Palace of the Arts Reina Sofia, the helmet-shaped building, is dedicated to hold the main opera shows in the city. We can also see there the big botanic garden «Umbracle» landscape pavilion; and finally we have theÁgora (where tennis matches and various concerts are organized). This complex is very impressive not only because of its huge dimensions but also for its eloquent forms and channels of crystal water that surrounds it. The bikes fine. The guide contributed little to the tour. I would have expected more knowledge about the city.
