We were collected from our hotel ahead of schedule by Ketut who was very friendly. Our first stop was the Kopi Lewak plantation and coffee/tea tastings which was a pleasant surprise. We were offered an opportunity to go on the jungle swing which we loved. From there, was the brunch overlooking Mt Batur. The food on offer was amazing. We were introduced by our Cycle Tour guide called Made who was just so friendly, knowledgeable and friendly the entire trip, giving us plenty of photo opportunities throughout the ride. Him and his team controlled the traffic on busy roads making it extremely safe. It was a very relaxing pace, strolling through countryside, bamboo jungles, traditional villages, temples and rice paddies. The ride ended with a lovely late lunch at a restaurant overlooking rice paddies followed by a transfer back to our hotel. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn more of the traditional Balinese culture and way of life. Thankyou so much
Our guide & driver John was absolutely fantastic. He made our day really special, took amazing photos for us & made sure we had everything we needed. All the cycling guides were outstanding making sure we were safe amongst the traffic & scooters, teaching us about the history & culture of Bali. It was terrific to see the temple & village, stunning rice padi fields, countryside, beautiful scenery. We stopped for morning coffee where we were guided through plants & herbs, saw how coffee is roasted & ground using traditional methods & had a tea & coffee tasting. It was great to see Bali by bike, mostly downhill, with not too much effort involved & the beautiful & friendly Balinese people waving & shouting hello as we passed through their villages. There was plenty of food & bottled water provided. We highly recommend this tour, you won’t be disappointed.
We loved the Countryside Cycling Tour. Our guide Katut was not only knowledgeable he also had a great sense of humour and was handy on the camera. Visiting the coffee plantation was an added bonus on our car ride to our destination. The cycling itself was an easy ride, mainly down hill and took us through rice fields, bamboo plantations and local villages with a stop at a village temple. It was beautiful seeing the smiling faces of the village children as they ran out to say hello as we rode past. Plenty of bottled water was supplied and we had two delicious lunches the better being at the end of our ride amongst a rice field. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get out of the hustle and bustle and see the true Bali.
I was lucky enough to be the only person cycling that day so we went at my pace. I can cycle on normal roads but found some of the jungle paths and very narrow bits (with a large drop down) quite difficult at times. This was never an issue though, the guides were very understanding and allowed me to walk during those bits. The traditional village and temples that we visited are also very nice. I also visited a coffee plantation and had a chance to go on the big swing before the bike ride as well as a nice buffett lunch with amazing views over Mt Batur.
Craig and I enjoyed our experience riding our bikes along very easy terrain. Visiting a village was very interesting and we enjoyed both food stops yummy traditional foods. The drivers and guides were awesome.
