1. Tuxtla Gutiérrez: Sinkhole of Parrots Full-Day Rappel

Get an adrenaline rush on a full-day tour of the Sima de las Cotorras (Sinkhole of Parrots) in the karst plateau of Chiapas. Every morning, thousands of parrots fly out of the cavity, returning by dusk. As you abseil down about 200 feet (60 meters), you’ll see trees that can grow up to 100 feet (30 meters) tall, providing home to the parrots at the bottom of the hole. About half way down, you will also discover some ancient cave paintings, thought to be up to 10,000 years old. After your rapel, there will be time to eat at a local restaurant to taste the regional food of Chiapas, before your transfer back to Tuxtla Gutiérrez.
