Full description
Journey into the heart of the Maya culture on this captivating 2-archaeological-sites-in-1-day expedition. Start your day with a guided tour of the archaeological site of Coba and discover one of the tallest temples on the Yucatan Peninsula. Upon arriving at the site, you can follow the paths to arrive at the highest temple there, with optional bike rental available at the site for your convenience. You will then take a 1.5-hour tour around Tulum, exploring this archaeological site. The site is one of the most impressive ceremonial centers of the area due to its seaside location, which makes it even more unique. You can learn about the Maya culture and history of this beautiful ancient city which was occupied in 1200, before admiring the beautiful Caribbean beach with its turquoise waters. After enjoying these incredible historical treasures, and only a few minutes away from Tulum, immerse yourself in the cool, crystal clear waters of an ancient cenote, surrounded by hundreds of ancient rock formations. Participate in a traditional Maya ceremony set in a dry underground cave, believed to be the entrance to their Underworld. In a typical Maya house learn to make tortillas accompanied by the women from the region. Wrap up this fun-filled day savoring delicious regional food, including our famous “chayitas” and freshly flavored water drinks.

We really enjoyed this day trip. Tulum and Coba were very interesting places full of Mayan history. After that we visited a Cenote with crystal clear waters, it was a very refreshening stop. Later we had lunch at a Maya village. Everyone there was very friendly. Our group was small - we were 8 people - which was really good. Not only did we have the opportunity to interact with each other and learn our guide Marcus, better, but also we felt safer as we were not packed (Covid). Marcus was very flexible, he gave us time to buy some souvenirs and was always willing to show us around the natural environment of the area.
