  • Tulum: Sian Ka'an Biosphere Eco Park Extreme

    3. Tulum: Sian Ka'an Biosphere Eco Park Extreme

This thrilling full-day eco adventure of Sian Ka'an begins with a visit to the Muyil ruins, an exceptionally well-preserved site, with structures that date back to the post-classic period of 1200 to 1500 AC. Get privileged views on a zip line over the small lagoon. Then, take a boat ride through the Muyil and Chunyaxché Lagoons. Riding along the crystalline turquoise waters, you will reach the Xtlapak ruins, where you will hop into an ancient canal built by the Mayans over 1,000 years ago. While the gentle current pushes you along for approximately 45 minutes, listen to bird song and the whisper of the wind above. Float down the Mayan canal to Xtlapak, a checkpoint or customs stop where travellers wishing to pass had to pay a tax. Cruise back to the ecological park to hike through the lush jungle. Once you arrive at the cenote (ancient sinkholes), you can enjoy a thrilling zipline ride...

An amazing experience and an exceptional guide, Javier! The swim along the Mayan canal was spectacular, surrounded by one of the most beautiful natural environments with cristal clear waters. The guided visit to the Muyil ruins was also beautiful and interesting. We finished the tour in a genuine Maya town, where its inhabitants manage a natural park with huge and spectacular cenotes, zip lines and the best food I’ve had in Mexico, authentic local food. The price might be a bit high, but the tour is worth every penny. You won’t regret.

It was so nice having a guide that was super knowledgeable about Mayan culture and history. Javier and the entire team were all nice and helpful. We loved going through the Rivera Maya and getting to float around in the river, I could do that all day. And the cenote was beautiful. It was just the right amount of time and we ended at lunch. I would do this all over again because it was super convenient and we were with people who know the area.

I would reccoment this tour for anyone who loves Archaeology and would love to learn more about the ruins of the area. It was not a basic tour at all. I got way more information than I thought I would. Can't wait to do it again!

Alvarado was an excellent guide. It was a ling day but totally worth every cent. Rather than suffer through a tour bus and crowds of people, we rode comfortably in a nice Mercedes from site to site. Excellent experience.
