Full description
Enjoy a 5-6 hour guided hike through the Tsitsikamma Mountains. Experience a perfect balance between coastal bushes, river estuaries, and shoreline as you explore the mouth of Salt River and Kalander Kloof Gorge. Starting from the tranquil Natures Valley Lagoon, hike up through indigenous forest where giant Outeniqua Yellowwoods form a canopy over Kalander Kloof Gorge.  Walkthrough gentle corridors and then up some taxing stairs that lead you to the escarpment where fynbos-covered slopes lead up to the Tsitsikamma Mountains in the north and down to the ocean in the south. Follow the trail towards the ocean and the beautiful Salt River, where clear tea-colored water (a natural tannin stain from the forest) meets a white-sand beach with turquoise waves.  Here, admire the surreal beauty between the densely vegetated coastal heads. Dispending on the tide, return through the forest or above the sea cliffs.  End at the Groot River Estuary in Natures Valley. Swim in the lagoon or relax on the beach soaking up the beauty of the area.
