Full description

Depart from Tromsø in the morning, and head out to where the whales are in time to enjoy the short hours of daylight. Take in the breathtaking views of frozen landscapes in comfortable, panoramic lounges, and multi-level decks. Find a selection of food and drinks for purchase on board.

It'll take you about 3 to 3.5 hours to reach the whales, and, depending on the way and weather conditions, you'll spend about 1 to 1.5 hours with them. The boat uses a hybrid engine to reach their feeding grounds. As you near the whales the captain will switch to a silent electric engine that allows you to get close without disturbing them.

Everything about this trip was excellent. I was very impressed with the organisation’. The boat was warm and comfortable with reasonably priced food and drink. The commentary was very informative, this was delivered in short passages during the trip. Of course motoring in the awesome scenery was unforgettable and we were lucky enough to see the orcas. I would totally recommend any adult person to go on this trip. Not a trip for small children. The crew could be not be more helpful.

Given the circumstances, BRIM did an excellent job making the trip as enjoyable as possible. I liked the short stories and presentations throughout the journey, telling about marine life, whaling, Arctic life, Norway, and more. Sadly, we didn't see any whales, and the weather turned quite hostile, but so is nature: there's no guarantee. Though "value for money" would, of course have felt higher if we'd seen them :)

It was a really great tour. Despite very bad weather and very high waves, we saw a group of orcas right on the ship. Simply unforgettable. We were on the road for a total of 9 hours. During the trip you were informed about everything super. The boat is very modern and has a bar with delicious snacks and everything you need. You felt comfortable throughout. The crew was great. Thanks very much!
