Full description

Embark on a guided sledding experience from Tromsø. Take turns directing the sled or simply enjoy the incredible Arctic scenery. After, trade stories around a warm fire with some hot chocolate and cake.

Hop on the comfortable minibus and drive to the kennel on the island of Kvaløya. Once kitted out, head to the kennel and see the 130 Alaskan Huskies, who are always excited to meet guests.

Get a short demonstration on how to drive a sled and feel free to ask any questions. Then, follow your guide and meet your huskies. Each pair, one passenger, and one driver will have their own sled. Enjoy several opportunities to swap between roles once the trip starts. Finally, head out to the snow and follow the guide along the trail. Take photos throughout the trip and take in the incredible landscapes. After your 90-minute sledding adventure, make your way into the Sami Lavvo for hot drinks and Hege's famous homemade chocolate cake.

Trade stories from the trip around the cozy fireplace until it is time to change out of your suits and hop back on the bus. You will be returned to the pickup point.

Wonderful trip out. The minibus took us from Tromso to the kennels (around 35 mins) - here we changed into arctic suits & boots (optional) and then met with the dogs before heading out. The sled is very easy to drive and the guides give a thorough explanation before heading out. We were lucky with sunny weather when we started but then it turned into heavy snow - very enjoyable but bring something to cover your face in case this happens to you! Afterwards, we were given a talk on the dogs inside a lavvo with hot drinks and cake (very tasty!) and then given the opportunity to fuss over the dogs before getting changed and hopping on the minibus back. All in all a must do activity - thank you!

The overall experience was way above what we could ever imagine. The dogs were so friendly and you can tell the staff love what they do. The best part was the sledding as you do it yourself and it was so good. Recommend this on your itinerary when you come to Tromso.

Just one word - Perfect. From the pick up (the driver) to the people at the dog farm - everyone was very friendly and explained everything very well. Driving the sled yourself was so exciting and made so much fun. There was also time to stroke the dogs if desired before and after the driving.
