Tromsø: Whale Watching Tour by Hybrid-Electric Catamaran

3. Tromsø: Whale Watching Tour by Hybrid-Electric Catamaran

Depart from Tromsø in the morning, and head out to where the whales are in time to enjoy the short hours of daylight. Take in the breathtaking views of frozen landscapes in comfortable, panoramic lounges, and multi-level decks. Find a selection of food and drinks for purchase on board. It'll take you about 3 to 3.5 hours to reach the whales, and, depending on the way and weather conditions, you'll spend about 1 to 1.5 hours with them. The boat uses a hybrid engine to reach their feeding grounds. As you near the whales the captain will switch to a silent electric engine that allows you to get close without disturbing them.

We had a blast! The entire crew was amazing - we learnt so much about the Norwegian culture, whales, fjords, etc. Our guide had a good sense of humour. Yes, we saw Orcas :) and lovely tour of the Fjords. Highly recommend this tour. If you care more about the marine life, then choose this option since they are not disturbing the animals. The vessel is a hybrid - making it possible to be less intrusive for the marine life. Tip: 1. carry some snacks, water and motion sickness meds. They serve some stuff on board too but just keep something handy - always helps. 2. This trip is feast for the eyes so enjoy the good view from the upper deck. Arrive at the checkin early and grab a good spot.

Amazing experience! Lovely, engaging hosts with interesting stories. Beautiful reindeers. Location has cool mountain and fjord views. A bit unfortunate, that we were several big groups, so the sledding was a bit chaotic and unorganized. Highly recommend the trip!!

Beautiful landscape and many orca’s around the boot. Guide give l lot of information about the history of whale hunting, the animals and the landscape around us

Lovely trip! Just as I hoped it would be and better! I’m glad I dressed warm. The boat was comfortable.
