Full description

Experience a unique way of transport in Northern Norway – a daytime dog sledding adventure through a snowy terrain, surrounded by arctic mountain landscape and scenic fjords. With a team of eager huskies, journey into the wilderness! You do not need any previous skills to mush your own husky team. All you need is reasonable physical health and an eagerness to try something new. For this tour, you will be picked up from the city center of Tromso, and taken to the wilderness center in Camp Tamok.

Upon arrival at the camp, you will be provided with warm winter clothing and given thorough safety instructions and a practical demonstration from our lovely English-speaking guides. Once you are ready, you will embark on your journey.

Two people will share each sled and a dog team. One is the “musher” (driver) and the other can sit back and enjoy the ride. If your group includes children, please kindly note, that each child must be accompanied by an adult. You can switch places midway during the 12 km dog sledding trail. After the dog sledding adventure, you will be served a hot meal in a traditional Northern Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. After relaxing and warming up, you can board the bus back to the city and reflect on a memorable adventure.

A truly wonderful day dog-sledding. Great organisation from beginning to end with fantastic, friendly staff. The camp was stunning, super clean with a lovely atmosphere. Sledding was such a brilliant experience with the most breathtaking scenery. The dogs loved to run! They were very well cared for and were so friendly. We were able to spend as long as we liked with them at the end of the sledding. Our lunch was a delicious, traditional lamb stew served with their special bread and hot drinks. We were seated in a teepee with a warm fire. A huge thank you to all the staff but a special mention to Lisa, my sledding partner and Myla for making my daughters 21st birthday so special! I cannot recommend this activity highly enough.

We were given warm clothes (boots and overalls) that made us look very professional. Our crew was very excited...I mean the dogs. The guides informed us well about everything and took care of the trip. Great dogs pulled our sled, who already knew the way in Camp Tamok. We had a lot of fun. Thanks. We recommend.

Very pleasant visit. We had 1h20 of road but it passed super quickly and we discovered magnificent landscapes. Arrived at the camp we were directly taken care of or we changed. We did dog sledding for a little over an hour, it was really incredible, and we had favorable weather (bright sunshine). Then we had a very good hot meal.
