Upon arrival, you will be directed to the equipment room, where you will be provided with warm clothes and shoes for the day. Here you can also leave anything you don’t need on the tour. Listen and go through the safety instructions, filled with practical demonstrations on how to drive. You will drive in pairs with one driver and one passenger per snowmobile and plenty of opportunities to switch places during the two-hour snowmobiling adventure between the snow-covered mountains up to a frozen lake. Lake Finn marks the halfway point of the adventure and is a good place to take photos and play in the snow. After driving back down the trail and parking the snowmobiles, enjoy a hot meal in a traditional North Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent. One is the “musher” (driver) and the other can sit back and enjoy the ride. If your group includes children, each child must be accompanied by an adult. Upon arrival at the center, you will be provided with state-of-the-art snowmobiling suits and helmets. Begin with a thorough safety introduction and practical demonstration. You don't need any previous skills to drive a snowmobile, all you need is a normal physical condition. You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch places during the trip. The tour will bring you past scenic mountains and through the dramatic snow-covered Finn Valley. Ride on the snowmobiling track for approximately 2 hours, depending on the weather and snow conditions. There will be time to walk around freely and ask the experienced guide questions, as well as admire the unique snow and ice art carved by professional artists. Be escorted to your ice suite, where you will spend the night. The double beds in the ice rooms are surrounded by an ice frame and you will sleep in expedition sleeping bags on a comfortable mattress covered by reindeer skins. Embark on a guided walk through the wilderness on snowshoes. Away from the city, in the darkness of the valley, you will have a much better chance to spot the Northern Lights. Whilst searching for animal tracks, learn more about local wildlife. Arrive at the nature camp where the guide will show you how to make a fire and you may help to grill dinner. Spend the night in the Ice Hotel and awake next morning to a traditional Norwegian breakfast, followed by a dogsledding tour where you will have a chance to drive your own team of huskies. Upon completion, you will be served a hot meal and will be ready for a drive back to Tromsø.
