Every year at the end of October, huge shoals of herrings arrive around Skjervoy and the Kvanangen Fjord 3.5 hours North East of Tromso. You will see many whales, and even hear and smell them. Enjoy their company and take as many photos as you like. It will be cold, so make sure you bring warm and waterproof clothes for the excursion. We will give you flotation suits that you will wear on top of your own clothes. Climb aboard a comfortable boat and embark on an invigorating cruise through the fjords of Tromsø as you admire the incredible views of the everlasting sun. Whilst there is no guarantee that the sun will be seen, on a cloudless evening, you can get a serious suntan in the middle of the night. Your body will tingle with energy because of the light. Cozy up in an outdoor jacuzzi under the Northern Lights or in the sauna onboard (subject to availability). Your cruise course depends on the weather forecast and Solar Storm disturbance in Earth’s Magnetic Field. Once the course is set according to the highest possibility of seeing the Northern Lights, your guide will show you the amenities, spaces, and safety equipment of the ship. Once the conditions are right, the captain will slow the boat to lightly drift along with the current. Witness the dancing Northern Lights and learn tips from your guides to catch the best photo. Your guide will also offer to take portraits of you and the Lights in the background with access to download them. Visit different locations, each one offering a different view of the northern lights. Experience the magic of the aurora borealis– the colors, the movement, and as northerners say, the sounds.
