What people are saying about Trieste
I went on this tour by myself as I am traveling alone in Trieste but my tour guide Dejan was right on time to pick me up at my hotel with my name printed on a sign. He was friendly and professional with a great sense of humor and he was very knowledgeable about the area. Our first stop was the Predjama Castle which was incredible. Dejan walked me to the entrance and helped me get my ticket then turned me loose in the castle. Be sure to keep track of the time (about) 45 minutes as the cave tour runs on a regular schedule. The Postjona Cave was incredible. Bring a light jacket as it gets chilly. You get to ride a train inside and get a guided tour after the train drops you off within the depths of the cave. Your guide is waiting for you after to drop you off back at the hotel. It was amazing! I cannot recommend enough!
Our bus driver and our tour guide (Annalisa) were very good, and we enjoyed their company during the tour. We enjoyed Aquieleia and Grado very much, both different experiences (Aquileia being more historical and small town feel, and Grado being more a weekend town with lots more shops and eating places), but highly worth the trip. It ould have been good to have some more choices available for lunch at Aquileia.
This was such a fun and memorable experience. The guide was kind, full of knowledge and passion and eager to share. I loved that she had a multi-generation family connection to the town and the vineyard! The meat and cheese was delicious and she was very generous with pouring wine samples. The views alone are stunning (rain or shine). I would recommend this to everyone!
Demian was a perfect tour guide for Trieste. I was able to contact him before our tour and make a few special requests, for which he happily accepted. He knew details about the places we wanted to see in Trieste and added personal details which really made it special. Highly recommend.
