After the falls, you’ll have a tour of the town of Ocho Rios with a stop for souvenir shopping and to enjoy a typical Jamaican lunch. Next, you’ll head off on a drive through small market towns and hills to 9 Mile, the birth and final resting place of reggae superstar Bob Marley. Hear the story of his childhood and rise to stardom. Option Bioluminescent Lagoon Cruise and Dinner As you head back towards the coast you’ll stop at the Joe James Restaurant and Art Gallery. Enjoy Mr. James’s artwork and sit sown for a Jamaican family-style dinner (included). Finish your tour with a visit to the Luminous Lagoon, inhabited by microscopic organisms that emit a phosphorescent light when the water is agitated. Shortly after sunset, you’ll board a boat that takes you across the lagoon. As the water is disturbed, you’ll see the water illuminated behind the boat. Stop to enjoy a swim and watch your body glow. You’ll board a jitney that will take you through a forest into a landscape of waterfalls surrounded by lush gardens and magnificent trees. There are 7 waterfalls in all, several of which cascade into natural pools. Lifeguards on site will indicate which areas are open for swimming. There is a natural pool that’s fed by underground and above-ground springs that is suitable for children and those not able to swim. Once you leave this tropical oasis your tour continues to the Black River on the south coast. Stop en route for a local Jamaican lunch before boarding the boat for a nature expedition on Jamaica's longest river. As you cruise the Black River, you’ll see native wildlife, including various species of birds and the Jamaican crocodile.
