Visit the largest salt lake in northern Africa and witness the amazing sunrise. Early in the morning, your driver will pick you up at your hotel in Tozeur or Naftah. Head to Chott Djerid, a sea that abounds with legends: it’s told that entire armies disappeared here forever.   On your arrival, it will still be dark, so you’ll have to wait for the first rays of sun to appear behind the mountains and start to hit the layers of salt. You’ll see that the salt fields stretch as far as the eye can see—this lake covers more than 5000 square kilometers.
