Next visit the oldest library in the world and Piazza Santo Stefano, where you'll see the wonderful Basilica that overlooks the square. After visiting Rome, Siena and Florence our first impression when coming to Bologna wasn’t the love from the first sight ‍♀️ However, the walking tour with the brilliant guide in English-Paola, gave us a different perspective of the city. We were told so much more details and interesting facts that we read about in our guidebook. Highly recommended!!

  • Bologna: Torre degli Asinelli & Food Tasting

    2. Bologna: Torre degli Asinelli & Food Tasting

Take in the incredible views from the tallest leaning medieval tower in the world, built between 1109 and 1119. The panoramic view from the Torre degli Asinelli will take your breath away.  After the tower visit, enjoy a food tasting of Bologna's typical products and indulge in a plate of "Crescentina" with Mortadella.

“Tasting” is just a fried bologna sandwich and a scoop of ice cream. It wasn’t bad, but I was expecting more from a “tasting.” Also, it was not clear that I was purchasing a tasting. I just wanted tickets to the tower. Instructions were not clear as to where to meet. Fortunately, I had no problems. I enjoyed the towers, but the tour could have been executed better.

Ester was a real great guide. She showed us the city from the view of a university student which was really interesting. Sure, there were not so many historical details as you would expect from a professional guide, but that is not what we booked. So the experience was perfect! Ester also responded to our wishes and finished the tour at out parking lot. Thank you very much!

There is no better way to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Bologna than on a Segway tour amid the beautiful arcades and hidden cloisters of the city. The tour begins in Piazza Minghetti - the historical center of the city - where you will have an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the Segway. A rather unusual but intriguing itinerary runs through Via De’ Toschi, leading you through the alleys of the medieval market (Via Clavature and Via Sampieri). The tour continues straight along one of the most peaceful streets, Via Santo Stefano, home of the Basilica di Santo Stefano complex. This complex includes 7 Romanesque and Gothic churches, as well as an artistic representation of the period when Bologna was raised to a Commune. The route then follows the street back towards the renowned “leaning towers” and continues on to the heart of the ancient Jewish ghetto. Proceeding down Vi...
