Full description

Travel back to the days of the French Renaissance on a full-day tour of the châteaux of the Loire Valley from Tours. Enjoy a lunch in a privately-owned and still occupied castle. Unwind with an aperitif that is paired with local delicacies.

Meet your guide at the Tourist Office in Tours in the morning and ride in an airconditioned minivan to Chambord. Discover glorious works of art and architecture as your guide selects the most emblematic rooms to visit.

Hear memorable anecdotes as they point out hidden details. Get breathtaking views of the castle during a coffee break in Chambord Park. A French lunch is hosted by a French Countess who lives in the smallest of the Loire Valley castles.

Continue to Chenonceau, passing the must-see castles of the French “Valley of the Kings,” including Chaumont, Amboise, and Clos Lucé. Upon arrival at the Château de Chenonceau, admire the unusual castle built on a bridge across the Cher River.

Stroll through the manicured gardens named after the "Catherine de Médicis" and "Diane de Poitiers," the famous ladies who lived there. Take time to appreciate the refined architecture, the beautiful antiques, and lovely arrangements of fresh flowers.

Relax with an aperitif with local produts in a secret corner of the park. Enjoy the most striking view of Château de Chenonceau, before returning to Tours in the evening.

Absolutely outstanding tour. Worth every penny. Alex was incredible and extremely knowledgeable. She knew when to give explanations and be informative and then knew exactly when to let you have time to explore for yourself. It was the perfect balance. These castles are absolutely breathtaking and a multi sensory experience with the lunch built in. We spent two weeks in France and went on several tours. She was by far the absolute best.

an unforgettable day, we learned a lot of things thanks to our guide Nicolas who knows very well the history of France, the castles, the art, the region, in short, only happiness ... this day was very well organized, between solo visit and walk, we take the time to discuss, the meal at the countess was light rillette, salad, quiche and fromage blanc .. but the break was very pleasant. there were 8 of us, including 4 Americans, but our guide stayed with us all day. There was no aperitif apparently the content is no longer up to date .. it is still very expensive per day for a family of 4 people but we do not regret

Very easy and smooth booking process. Allows to reserve first and pay later so it gives chance to keep travel plans flexible. Very good communication throughout. Great choice of trips. Pick up point easy to find in a convenient location. Friendly and knowledgeable tour guides. We went on two separate day tours. It was very interesting and an amazing experience. We learned a lot about history of the kings & castles we visited and enjoyed the ride though the french countryside.
