From Costa del Sol or Málaga: Caminito del Rey with Tapas

2. From Costa del Sol or Málaga: Caminito del Rey with Tapas

Discover the scenic beauty of the Caminito del Rey trail on a guided excursion from Málaga or from selected areas of the Costa del Sol. Traverse the El Chorro Gorge and enjoy some tapas after the hike. Start your day with pickup by bus from different points of the Costa del Sol or Málaga and depart for Ardales. Stop for breakfast (not included) along the way at a local restaurant with plenty of typical local products. Finally, arrive at the northern access point of the Caminito del Rey. The group will then walk through a small and quite long tunnel to reach the natural path that leads to the entrance checkpoint of the Gorge. At that point, you'll receive a helmet together with the safety instructions. Your guide will also join you to give you further explanations of what will be found during the trek but also many hints about the history of this peculiar construction. The Gorge, called Desfiladero de los Gaitanes, is a natural pass across the hills that separate the Málaga coastline from the inlands. The River Guadalhorce flows at the bottom of the gorges, after having passed through the reservoirs. El Chorro means "the Spurt": your guide will explain why. El Caminito del Rey is nowadays a rebuilt path that stretches between two gorges, canyons, and a large valley, along pathways or boardwalks. It is safe and comfortable to walk as most of the path is flat or downhill. The route goes in one direction, downwards from the north to the south.  Your bus will be waiting near the exit point, but before driving back to the Costa del Sol, you will try some local tapas from a small bar close by. Once this light lunch is over, travel back to Costa del Sol and be dropped off at your pickup point.

What people are saying about Torremolinos

Spectacular show! The owner is the lead performer and was at the stables pre-show. The horses are well taken care of and they are trained with passion, their performance is testament of the connection of rider to horse! A must see!

Excelente tour. Muy recomendable. El paseo fue hermoso, salvo el tiempo de llegada a Caminito del Rey es muy largo porque el bus recoge a viajeros durante todo el camino hasta llegar a destino.

Beautiful show!! Only the public talks through it. And despite the ban, photos are still taken with flash and videos. This is particularly disturbing.

Tour guide was brilliant, the tour itself and transportation was perfect it went very smoothly, I would definitely recommend to friends/family.

The tour was canceled due to bad weather. I got good info and was able to go the next day instead.
