I took a day trip with Get Your Guide from Malaga to Gibraltar. And we had a very patient, excellent driver and fantastic storytelling local guide (Chris?), which I can highly recommend. He also had a focus on the safety relating to the monkeys. But I do also suggest some changes to the set-tup. We were a small group (8-10 total) of which 4 hadn't read / understood the trip guidance, and showed up without no passport/ID, which delayed us at the border. This could have been avoided, if the driver had checked ID/passport-situation before leaving Malaga. Shouldn't be necessary, but.. 2 from that specific group also had challenges committing to the guide's instructions and were constantly late. This meant that we had to cancel our planned trip to the old city in Gibraltar due to timing. I know it is not Get Your Guide's fault, but yet made me change my way for the next trip (Ronda) - I went on my own.
Enjoyed the trip. Would recommend it. It started in Malaga, at 9:40, bus was clean and comfortable. Arrived by 10:30 in Nerja, the museum is not really worth it, but it's only a short walk from Balcony of Europe. Nice views there, left there at 12:10 towards the caves. Worth visiting but I did not like that it was crowded. The lunch break (13:30-14:30) is at the restaurant outside the caves and it is a bit of a tourist trap. Do not recommend it. Next is Frigiliana, white cute village, took the scenic train ride for 3 euros/half an hour. Walked about another half hour. At 16:00 bus ride back to Malaga. Arrived almost at 17 back at pick-up point. All in all enjoyed it, the guide was hard to understand, even though he mixed english/spanish/french.
A nice day in two beautiful towns. However, even though the guide was nice, the tour itself was just standard - a large bus full of people, commentary in 3 languages on the bus and just free time in each town. I would suggest doing this tour with a different company that offers touring for smaller groups if possible.
Local guide (Maria) was excellent! The guide on the bus was ok, but his French (and English) was somewhat poor. Didn't seem as well organized as others on other tours. Some people on the bus switched seats when stopping at breaks or returning. Guide on the bus should advise no to do that.
The bus was on time, comfortable, the guides friendly and informative. Frigiliana is a beautiful town, but the train your was disappointing. The recorded tour guide was too loud and fast, and in multiple languages. We had no idea what was being said.
