Stewart of Adrift was a superb guide who set a pace according to our group whilst ensuring we completed the walk in seven and a half hours. A tough trek at times but Stew kept us going with information and encouragement. So pleased we booked a guide and we certainly were fortunate to have selected Adrift. Robyn took us to start and picked us up at end so there was no waiting at all. So good we went with Stew on a 90 min sunset walk that evening.

The most beautiful hiking experience I ever had. It is unbelievably beautiful though you need to have a very good fitness level. We were not able to catch up with others but Hiro, our guide was absolutely fantastic. He supported us and took care of us throughout the hike. Will come back to see sunrise during summer.

All in all it was a good tour. Nevertheless, I personally find the paid 250 NZ $ a little too much. Of course, you have all the necessary clothing before the departure of the Mountain Tongariro received the one missing and therefore, nothing must be bought beforehand, which then saves a lot. Unless you have it from the beginning in a suitcase / trekking backpack The LunchBox obtained was also net the best. I burned over 2000 kcal after the tour. Therefore, you can pack something else yourself. The distance of 19.4 km is very well recognizable, getting off the beaten path is as good as possible. Therefore, my recommendation to do it on your own and treat yourself to the fun. We were a group of 8 people, I am a relatively good athlete with a lot of stamina and then had to be held often, because there are always some in the group who underestimate it, have to sit down constantly and therefore have to stand or wait a lot ,
