What people are saying about Tirana

Our guide, Endri, met us promptly at 9:00 and we set off for Apollonia. During our drive, Endri filled us in on some Albanian history, culture, customs, and geography. Upon our arrival at the archeological site, we were met by a professional archeologist, Arjan. He gave us a very descriptive tour which included a small museum housed in part of a 13th century AD Orthodox Church complex. After this informative visit, we left for Durres with a stop en route at a wonderful local village restaurant where we ate incredibly good seafood. In Durres, we walked the waterfront and visited the 2 century AD amphitheater, which was just partially excavated starting in the 1960’s. Our trip culminated with ice-cream and coffee at a great shop before our return to Tirana. There is a lot of walking and riding on this tour and it was a long day, but worth it. Our guide, Endri, was professional, personable, and very knowledgeable. We would request him again.

I liked the most Durres and Kruje, these places look amazing and they are well preserved. Kruje was the best of them all, a little physically demanded as is a little steep the way to castle grounds, but I enjoyed it very much. The bazaar on the way up is very pleasant. We had a marvellous lunch ( with an amazing view). Julian is a great tour guide. He knows all the historical facts and his English is great. He makes sure you’re comfortable & safe at all times.

The tour was so charming. The guide was so knowledgeable and interesting and made it such a nice experience. It’s helpful to have a guide on a visit to Durres where you have to use some “imagination” to get the picture of the old importance of the town. The program was very well organized, our guide was extremely prepared, kind, with a lot of information and respect for all our requests, the lunch was delicious, the sights were special.
