1. From Ushuaia: Trekking to Emerald Lagoon with Dinner

You will start this tour from the meeting point located in Ushuaia city and then depart towards Tierra Mayor Valley. Once at the begining of the path, you will start your 3-hour hike towards Emerald Lagoon. Most of the year the ground is humid, which gives a medium difficulty to the trek. Enjoy path covered with dense native forests and streams (over 5 miles with cumulative elevation gain of 580 ft.). Emerald Lagoon is hidden and located at the foot of the Ojo de Albino glacier, between Cerro Bonete and Cordón Toribio. It is an excellent place for spotting foxes, condors, and beavers. Once arrival to the shore, marvel at the turquoise water while you take a break. The colors that mix between the emerald green of its waters and the coppery red of the peat bogs, added to the ochers, greens and browns of the mountains that enclose it and the albino white of the glacier achieve a visual charm and a wonderful chromatic amplitude. At the end of the tour, enjoy a quiet dinner in a charming cabin overlooking the Tierra Mayor valley while the sun slowly goes down. Return to Ushuaia is estimated around 10 PM.

The trek to Laguna will remain a highlight of our stay in Ushuaia. We were picked up on time, then when we arrived at the starting point, boots and trekking poles were given to us as well as a delicious picnic. After a few safety instructions, we started our trek to La Laguna Esmeralda supervised by our two super guides: David and Thomas who were not stingy with explanations of the flora and fauna along the way. Then finally the arrival at the lake, true beauty of nature, flanked between rocky bars like a jewel in its case! A great moment of emotion that we will remember for a long time.

It's a long trek ( if you are not a trekker) and requires waterproof boots, most of the trek is on damp and Marsh soli. The alternative you are offered of cheap rubber boots is not very good. The ones my wife used were ruptured and they don't give you a good support. You will need trekking poles, but they are provided by the operator. Other than these operating issues it was very nice trek with very beautiful scenary.

Since it had been raining quite a bit the walk in to the lake was A bit challenging due to the amount of mud on the trail But our guide was great in keeping everyone together and enjoying the experience. The hike itself is lovely!

Phenomenal hike! Definitely bring your own waterproof boots if you can, and get ready for a workout. The payoff is worth it! Beautiful glacial lake, and Daniel was a very knowledgeable guide.

Intense long day! Excellent guide, Nicolas, spoke English and Spanish but with us often in Italian. Stunning landscapes that are worth a visit! Excellent transport service, on time.
