Day 2-3: Two days of sightseeing in Lhasa Visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar, Drepung Monastery, and the Sera Monastery with a guide. Stay overnight at a hotel. Day 4: Lhasa - Gyantse (3,950m) - Shigatse Drive to Gyantse via Yamadroke Lake and the high passes, Kora LA (5,010m) and Kamba La (4,794m). After breakfast, enjoy some sightseeing in Gyantse with visits to Pholkor and Kumbum Monastery. In the evening, take a 1.5-hour scenic drive to Xigatse through the typical Tibetan countryside. Stay overnight at a hotel. Day 5: Shigatse - Xegar (4,200m) Wake up and head off to visit Panchen Lama’s Tashilhumpu Monastery. Then drive to Xegar, crossing over Gyatchula, a pass of 5,200m. Settle in for an overnight at a hotel. Day 6: Xegar to Ronbuk (4,980m), 90 kilometers  Embark on a scenic drive to Ronbuk through the beautiful Tibetan countryside. Explore Ronbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world, and enjoy an overnight at a guest house.   Day 7: Ronbuk - Everest Base Camp - Kerong Hike up to Everest Base Camp and explore the surrounding area. Travel back to Ronbuk and then drive to Kerong for overnight at a hotel. Day 8: Kerong to Kathmandu Head toward the Rasuwagadi border and, after necessary border formalities, drive to Kathmandu on the magical Friendship Highway to conclude the tour with hotel drop-off.

Embark on a magical and unforgettable journey through the Upper Mustang on a 19-day trek which will push your physical endurance but is intensely rewarding. Travel through arid and haunting wilderness amongst wind eroded hills and cliffs on the way to the borders of the Tibetan Plateau. Discover how the region, until relatively recent times, was a Kingdom within Nepal with its own monarch, hidden from the outside world until the early 90s. The area was first opened to tourists in 1992 and only then with strict limits on the number of people allowed to travel there. Follow the Gandaki Valley trail with occasional detours above the valley walls. Settlements along the trail are scattered with little sign of cultivation between villages. Finally, arrive in Lo Manthang, the mystical capital of Upper Mustang filled with a rich history and cultural heritage. Explore the maze of gompas (religious shrines) and houses that surround the king's palace.  Itinerary Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (TIA) International Airport (1,365 m). Transfer to your hotel, then, enjoy an evening welcome dinner. Stay overnight at the hotel.  Day 2: Spend a free day in Kathmandu preparing for the trek. Stay overnight at the hotel.  Day 3:  Drive for 5 hours from Kathmandu to Pokhara Valley (910 m).
