the trip to the Landmannalaugur is quite long, but it is still interesting with several stops for other beautiful landmarks, and it is still worth to see the colorful mountains. Also, I chose this activity as the only organized group excursion on my Iceland trip, as I had only average car rented and it requires 4x4 to access the mountains. it is an unforgettable experience! the guide (Bjork for the short version) was an excellent driver for the off roads and very nice guide for the hike - she "sensed" the group and kept us all in "the rhythm", still allowing to admire the beautiful views. After finishing the hike, you have an option to soak in the geothermal waters. The only thing - I would love to add at least additional hour, especially for the last part of the hike (the "green" part parallel to the river).

Amazing scenery, feels different to others parts of Iceland

This is a full day tour, I was picked up at 7:30am and got back to the city at 8:20pm Steve our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us some really good insight into the wonder of lannmannalauger. Our group were all experienced hikers so we opted for the more challenging route up the volcano and back down through the lava fields. Really pleased I choose an option to do this with a hiking guide as it would have been very easy to get lost in the lava field. It would have been made slightly nicer by having an extra 30 to go in the hot spring. Whilst I enjoyed this, I would of liked to relax longer in the hot spring after the hike.

Stunning location + charming and experienced guide (Matt) = BEST!

This was the highlight of my visit to Iceland. Our fun guide Matt created an exciting and safe (yet challenging) hike while entertaining us with many "fun facts" about Iceland's geology and geography, and perceptive comments about Icelandic culture, language, attitudes, and history. The hike is set in the beautiful highlands and the dip into the geothermal pond after the hike should not be not to be missed. The bus ride there and back was also comfortable and fun as the amazing bus driver expertly drove around some scary curves. This was the best tour ever!

Marcel the guide was resourceful and knows the landscape inside out. Hike was amazing and beautiful, with explosion of colours on the whole way! We were also really lucky with the weather!

Best hike trip I've ever had. Matt, the guide, was so informative and acknowledged. We had fun almost all the way to top. Highly recommend!!!!
