Schönbrunn Blue Route
We enjoyed our Big Bus experience overall, but primarily due to the guided walking tour we added. Our guide Charles was absolutely amazing. His tour was so informative and fun and one of the highlights of our stay. The buses overall were not as helpful, as the routes covered a relatively small space, ran infrequently and at unpredictable times, meaning we missed several scheduled buses and had to walk to our destinations, and because the portion of the day they ran was fairly limited (arrived at the stop near our hotel at 11, stopped running by 17) it wasn’t as useful as we had hoped. Commentary was interesting when we were able to ride.
2. Vienna: Skip-the-Line Entrance Ticket to the Danube Tower
Visit the magnificent Danube Tower and experience the tallest landmark of Vienna. Take the shuttle bus from either Alte Donau or Neue Donau metro stations to the tower, then head straight to the entrance with your skip-the-line ticket. The terrace at the Danube Tower comprises a fully accessible outdoor platform and a two-story glass-paned indoor section, where you can admire the unforgettable panorama of Vienna's gorgeous cityscape. The glassed-in terrace allows visitors to enjoy the view over Vienna in strong winds and bad weather conditions and has become a particularly popular venue for special occasions. At an altitude of 160 meters, the café offers homemade pastries, strudel, and cakes as well as a range of delicious Viennese coffee specialties and warm Austrian delicacies. The next floor houses the Danube Tower restaurant at an altitude of 170 meters. Both floors make one full r...
We visited at the beginning of March so it wasn’t that busy. The lift has a glass roof so you can watch as the life ascends to the top of the towers. The view from the tower is amazing! The restaurant/cafe at the top slowly revolves that you don’t actually notice. The staff are friendly and polite.

A friendly driver will take you to all the main sights, traveling in the comfort of a luxury limousine or minivan just for you. Drive along the Ring boulevard, and marvel at the impressive buildings built during the reign of Emperor Franz Josef, including the State Opera House, Museum of Fine Art, Parliament, and City Hall. Go to Heroes' Square to admire the vast Imperial Palace complex, former residence of the Habsburg rulers. Then, get out of town to explore the River Danube and United Nations buildings. Visit the Prater amusement park to see the iconic Ferris Wheel. En route to Schönbrunn Palace, former summer residence of the Habsburgs, pass City Park with its golden statue ...
Our guide, Thomas did an excellent job driving us to the various Otto Wagner landmarks that I had requested. He also included some of his favorite places in Vienna.
