Explore Tenryū-ji Temple and its unchanged garden from centuries ago and exit into the seemingly endless, emerald-glowing Bamboo Grove, winding dreamily uphill. You could walk across the glittering Katsura River and spy excited macaques at the Arashiyama Monkey Park, or you could wander between Zen temples, breathing in the fragrant air, and celebrate the spirit of ancient Japan. The bamboo forest might be the main reason to visit Arashiyama, but with a host, you can see (and do) so much more. This tour was exactly what was described - it was like having a friend show you around their city! My guide Nicolo was passionate about showing his city off and highlighting places to see and things to do. He helped me try foods I wouldn’t otherwise have tried on my own (due to my allergy and inability to communicate that effectively most times by myself) and even made reservations for lunch at a place he called ahead to to make sure they accommodate my needs! He also arranged a visit to a festival that only happens once a year and that I would have had no idea about! Thanks for an amazing day in Kyoto Nicolo!

We took the 70 minute tour and it was an amazing experience. We enjoyed it thoroughly. Our rickshaw pullers are professional and friendly. They are patient to answer our questions, generous in sharing information about the different sites and help us to take beautiful photos. The whole ride was also very smooth and safe! We would highly recommend this tour for an unforgettable Arashiyama experience. If you are still considering about it, don’t think any more. Go for it. You won’t regret.

Wonderful experience, we enjoyed every minute of the tour.
