Full description
Enjoy an amazing sunset by taking an evening VIP cable car ride up Teide. After an 8-minute ride to the upper station, at 3,555 meters, you’ll be able to admire Teide's shadow that reaches as far as Gran Canaria. Take a short walk to see the natural spectacle of the sun setting behind the Pico Viejo crater and La Gomera, El Hierro, and La Palma. After sunset you’ll enjoy a cocktail dinner (optional) designed by two-Michelin-starred chef Erlantz Gorostiza from M.B. restaurant, featuring dishes typical of the islands, including papas arrugás (wrinkled potatoes) served with various mojos (sauces) and black Iberian pork skewers all accompanied by white, red and rose wines from the islands. After dinner you’ll have the opportunity to gaze at the stars with the help of a starlight guide and a professional telescope. See distant constellations and planets in the ideal conditions of Teide National Park. If the weather conditions make it difficult to see the stars clearly, your guide will use audiovisual equipment to provide a virtual tour of the night sky, the constellations and notable objects that you would otherwise have seen.

Pick up ok but we traveled for about 1 hour to pick up everyone. I guess it's typical in those kind of activities. It would be nice if we had made one or two quick stops before we reach the destination, in order to take a few photos. The mountain is great. The sunsef was nice. The guide was nice and helpful, explaining lots of things. The food was unnecessary, but this was the only available package we found online. It was gourmet kind, wasn't bad, but for me it was an unnecessary add up to to the cost of this activity. The stargazing was good but a bit short I think. We only saw 3 things through telescope. Could spend one or two more hours on that. Overall I was happy, could be even better of course.

Hotel pickup/drop off was very easy- just a short walk to a neighboring hotel. There were about 16 people on our shuttle. The cable car ride was fairly quick. And the hike was easy/moderate-easy. It does get cold up there, so make sure to be prepared with warm clothes. There were maybe 50-60 people on the hike/sunset part of the trip. The dinner was good, but the best part of it all was the stargazing! There were about 40 people on the dinner/stargazing part of the trip. There were 3 telescopes and tons of instruction for finding constellations without telescopes. The only “bad” part were some of the other guests who were interrupting the guides, or simply talking over them when the instructions weren’t in their language, but that’s a risk with any group trip! Just something to keep in mind.

We had the option of picking up, Teide and observatory. The collection went well, the driver drove safely and there was information about the area, great! The Teide is worth seeing, but the path is rocky and still strenuous, especially because of the height (low oxygen). After sunset, we went back to the station, where you can eat and warm up in a cafeteria. My personal highlight was stargazing afterwards. It is really well explained and everything is shown exactly with laser pointers or telescopes. Beautiful! Tip: It gets really fresh on the heights, especially without sun and good shoes are a must.
